Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Build or Skip website, research workspace, account, subscription, support, Chrome extension, and related communications. It does not control third-party websites or services that publish their own privacy terms.

The Build or Skip Chrome extension has one purpose: to display conservative payment-signal labels and, when available, Ahrefs Domain Rating alongside eligible natural Google Search results.

When you turn the extension on, it reads hostnames from natural result links on the Google Search page you are viewing. It sends the normalized hostnames, a random locally generated installation identifier, the extension version, and a fixed protocol version to Build or Skip over HTTPS. We use that information only to return a conservative payment-signal label and, when available, a 0–100 Domain Rating with required Ahrefs attribution, operate the endpoint, prevent abuse, and diagnose reliability.

The extension does not read or transmit Google search terms, search-result URLs, result ranks, titles, snippets, page HTML, page text, cookies, browsing history, Google account information, payment credentials, precise location, raw payment-source data, Ahrefs credentials, or raw Ahrefs responses. The extension never calls Ahrefs from the browser. The installation identifier is not derived from a Google account and is not used for advertising, personalization, or credit decisions.

The extension stores its on/off setting, disclosure acknowledgement, and random installation identifier in Chrome extension local storage. Turning it off stops new hostname batches; uninstalling the extension removes that local extension storage from the browser.

We collect information you provide, information created when you use the service, information supplied by service providers, and public or third-party research data used to operate the product.

• Account information: a provider user identifier, verified email address, authentication status, and session information when you sign in with Google through Supabase Auth.
• Subscription and billing records: selected plan, billing period, subscription status, provider customer or subscription references, checkout references, payment-event status, and related timestamps. Complete card numbers and payment credentials are handled by the payment provider rather than intentionally stored by Build or Skip.
• Product-use information: domains saved to a watchlist, feature and filter use, page and referral URLs, language, approximate location, browser, device, performance, error, click, scroll, and interaction information when the relevant analytics service is enabled.
• Communications: your email address and the content, attachments, and metadata of messages you send to support or submit to a launch waitlist.
• Research data: domain names, domain registration dates, website-level rankings, payment signals, trends, and other aggregate or derived market signals. This research data is intended to describe websites and market activity, not individuals.

We use information to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, apply plan limits, maintain watchlists, process subscription status, answer support requests, send requested service communications, understand product performance, prevent abuse, debug errors, improve rankings and features, comply with law, and protect our rights and users.

We do not use payment credentials to build research rankings, and we do not present account data or private customer records as product-market evidence.

Build or Skip uses essential browser storage and cookies where needed to maintain authentication and security. When configured in production, Plausible provides aggregate website analytics without setting analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand page interactions through heatmaps and reconstructed session activity, and Google Ads helps us measure advertising conversions. Clarity and Google may use cookies or similar technologies and collect technical, interaction, and conversion information under their respective practices.

When you open or apply a partner referral link, Build or Skip sets a first-party, HttpOnly attribution cookie for up to 30 days. The browser stores only a random opaque token. On verified sign-in, the server associates the referral with your billing account so an eligible offer can be restored on another device within the original window. Signing in or refreshing does not extend that window. Removing an offer clears the cookie and deactivates account-linked candidates; attribution already recorded for a checkout or payment remains in its audit history.

Google Identity Services loads when you choose Google sign-in. Your browser may communicate directly with Google during that process. You can control cookies through your browser and use provider opt-out controls where available, although blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or other features from working.

We share information only as needed to operate the service, complete a transaction you request, protect the service, comply with law, or complete a business transaction. We do not sell your account information or support messages as a standalone product.

• Supabase supports authentication and database services.
• Google supports the sign-in flow you choose.
• Waffo / Pancake supports checkout, subscription, fraud-prevention, tax, and payment processing when paid checkout is available.
• Vercel hosts and delivers the application. Chrome extension requests pass through this hosting infrastructure so Build or Skip can return the restricted label.
• Plausible and Microsoft Clarity support aggregate and behavioral analytics, and Google Ads supports advertising conversion measurement when configured. The Chrome extension does not load these services.
• Cloudflare supports inbound email routing, and Resend may support requested product or account email delivery when configured.
• Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction counterparties may receive information when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, rights protection, security, financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and audit records, administer subscriptions, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention varies by data category and provider.

For the Chrome extension, the API uses short-lived in-memory rate-limit entries keyed by one-way hashes. Redacted operational events omit requested hostnames and raw installation identifiers. Extension request data is not used to create browsing profiles or to expand our research catalog.

We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed. Backup, fraud-prevention, payment, security, and legal records may remain for a limited period after an account or request is closed. Public and site-level research data may remain in historical or derived datasets when it does not identify an individual.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including provider authentication, restricted service credentials, server-side authorization, and payment-provider checkout. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Do not send passwords, authentication codes, complete card numbers, or other payment credentials through support email.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights may be limited by verification, applicable law, security, fraud-prevention, billing, and recordkeeping requirements.

To make a request, email support@buildorskip.dev from the address connected to your account when possible. Describe the request and the account or interaction involved. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You can also unsubscribe from optional launch or product emails using the method provided in the message or by contacting support.

Build or Skip and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws may differ across locations. Where required, the relevant provider or controller uses legally recognized safeguards for cross-border processing.

Build or Skip is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

We may update this Policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
